Damar Hamlin is an American football player who currently plays safety for the Pittsburgh Panthers. Hamlin was born on December 16, 1998 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA and attended Central Catholic High School, where he excelled in both football and track.

Hamlin's football career began in high school, where he played safety and was twice an All-State selection. He was also a key member of the Central Catholic team that won the Pennsylvania Class 6A State Championship in 2015.

After graduating from high school, Hamlin committed to play university football for the Pittsburgh Panthers. In his freshman year, he played in 12 games and recorded 25 tackles and two interceptions. He continued to improve over the next few years and in his senior year was one of the team's leading defensive players with 74 tackles, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.

Hamlin's performances in university earned him an invitation to the 2021 NFL Combine, where he showcased his skills in front of scouts and team officials. Although he was not drafted, he signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent and made the team's practise squad. He was eventually promoted to the active roster and played in six games, making six tackles.
